TEMPLES
The temples of Nagesh, Mahalaxmi, and Ramnath were all shifted here from the old conquests in 1567, when by the decees of the inquisition there was systematic destruction of the religious places of the Hindus called as Gentios or outsiders by the foreign Portuguese. At the end the Portuguese rule came the Saundekar kings who settled here and built the Shivtirth Palace.
